A few days ago we received a call from a wife who had hired another PI company and paid them a retainer of $5,000. After three weeks they had nothing to show for that large amount of money. The only thing they could show the client was a picture of the condo complex her husband was staying at during the week. She already knew what it looked liked. She also told us that she could not figure out how they could follow her husband, since they didn't even ask for his license plate number. We met with her on a Thursday. The following Wednesday we caught him with his married girlfriend. He told his wife he was going to play golf with some friends. The only golf he played that day was at a Atlanta motel. He and the girlfriend were there for several hours. As they exited the side door of the motel, they stopped and spoke briefly and then began to hug and kiss. She then got in her vehicle and left. He remained a few more minutes then got on his cell phone and called his wife telling her he had just finished the golf game and was on his way home. When we informed the client the results of the surveillance she was pissed and pleased at the same time. Mike and I agreed that this will probably be the most expensive golf game this guy will ever participate in.
We felt bad for the client for wasting her money with the other company and no results. It appears that we caught him in less than 7 days and her invoice is not anywhere near the $5000 she spent with the other company. I urge each potential client to do your research on PI companies and see if any complaints have been filed against them with the State board. Also you can Google the company name and sometimes find reviews from past clients.
We have been told on several occasions by clients that they really appreciated our professionalism and the way we treated them. They did not feel that we were just trying to get their money. We talk with them, we counsel them and let them know we want to help them. We keep them updated. We always tell our clients they are welcome to talk to the attorneys we have worked for and if past clients agree to talk with them we will give them their contact information. We are very proud of the work we do!!!
